Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, has revealed the most recent information regarding The Fantastic Four. In the movie, Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm/The Thing, Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn plays Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic. Feige has disclosed that the movie is a historical drama with a 1960s setting. Feige stated, "It is a period film, and there was another piece of art we released with Johnny Storm flying in the air making a 4 symbol," on The Official Marvel Podcast. In that picture, a cityscape was seen. Many astute observers noted that the cityscape bore no resemblance to either the New York of the 1960s or the New York that we knew and loved. Those are astute insights. Feige also said that The Fantastic Four filming will start the Monday following Comic-Con, July 29. In addition, Paul Walter-Hauser, Ralph Ineson, John Malkovich, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, and Natasha Lyonne sta...

MCU franchise sequels reportedly shelved; Captain Marvel continuation a potential missed opportunity.

If one source is right, the MCU might see significant changes when it comes to MCU film sequels. Disney is purportedly discontinuing three MCU properties in order to concentrate on enhancing the MCU and presenting tales with the characters that fans are most interested in seeing.

Having followed the MCU meticulously for over ten years, I can't say that I'm shocked that this has happened. I will admit that, out of the three franchises, I'm sorry to see one of them go since it didn't deserve the unfair criticism it got. Regarding the other two, it's likely a wise decision to forgo standalone films, but I do expect to see those characters in further MCU crossovers.

Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, and Eternals are the three franchises in dispute. If the scooper is correct in what she says, then this isn't a major spoiler. Naturally, the characters from these franchises can still make appearances in subsequent crossovers, including Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, even in the absence of sequels. But some spoilers will come below.

Along with Bob Iger's return to Disney, Marvel's Multiverse Saga plans underwent a significant alteration. At the time, reports claimed that Iger wanted Marvel to concentrate more on the stories that resonated with fans. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced shortly after Iger assumed leadership that the company would release fewer films and Disney Plus series in an effort to enhance the overall quality of the MCU and spread out the Multiverse Saga's adventures.

There were undoubtedly more projects in the early stages of Phase 4 than we were used to. Yes, it did look interesting at first. And if Marvel could have continued to produce stories of the same caliber as the Infinity Saga, that would have been fantastic.

I predicted that Marvel would benefit from the writers' and actors' strike of last year. Yes, all work had to be put on hold at the studio. However, this allowed Kevin Feige and company more time to organise their next moves. even if it meant only one MCU film this year and the majority of the Multiverse Saga being postponed. Deadpool & Wolverine will be released in theaters this summer.

In March 2024, Eternals 2, Ant-Man 4, and Captain Marvel 3 are no longer being developed by Disney, according to a report by Daniel Richtman. It's said that Iger wants Marvel to focus more on fan-friendly projects and less on taking chances.

Although it's unknown if Marvel thought of producing Captain Marvel 3 or Ant-Man 4, a project called Eternals 2 was purportedly in the works. Additionally, let me remind you that not every Marvel character need three films or three TV series seasons.

I believe that Captain Marvel deserves a second installment out of the three properties the insider listed. It's not that the movie was awful, because The Marvels did not bomb at the box office. The Marvels is a far superior tale than Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Eternals.

The actors of the film, however, were unable to promote The Marvels because it debuted amid the strikes. The customary publicity tours that precede the release of a major MCU film were not possible for the stars.

When you combine this with the unjustified internet campaigns against the film and the prior MCU missteps, the odds are stacked against a poor box office showing. And despite the fact that the first film made over $1 billion at the box office, that is what ultimately brought an end to the Captain Marvel trilogy.

However, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) will most likely be fighting alongside the Avengers against Kang in the upcoming Avengers films. The same is true for Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who need to make appearances in other MCU films and television series.

Regarding Ant-Man 4 and Eternals 2, they should be placed on indefinite hold. Although Quantumania was supposed to be one of the main cornerstones of the Multiverse Saga, it turned out to be a great disappointment. I can't blame Iger for not wanting a sequel, but the tale has serious issues, so I too had great expectations for the gorgeous film Eternals.

All the same, I'm hoping for a return of Paul Rudd's Scott Lang in the MCU. There are rumors that Ant-Man may make an appearance in Spider-Man 4, and I hope those rumors are true. Then there's Cassie (Kathryn Newton), who eventually ought to become a member of the Young Avengers.

The Eternals and Celestials are the next group, and they ought to continue to be involved in MCU projects. Given that Marvel needs to wrap up a few loose ends from Eternals, it would be tragic to never see some of those superheroes again.
