Marvel Movies Releasing In 2024

Deadpool 3 - July 26, 2024

With Deadpool 3 slated to be the first time Marvel Studios reintroduces a Fox character as the main character of an MCU film, the franchise will enter a new chapter. Hugh Jackman, who previously stated he was done playing Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, both make a comeback in this film. Deadpool 3 will now be released on July 26, 2024, instead of its original release date of November 8, 2024, which was pushed back to May 3, 2024. Even that date was an option.

Kraven The Hunter - August 30, 2024

Kraven the Hunter, the final film in the Sony Spider-Man Universe for 2024, will be released on August 30, 2024. This date has been noticeably postponed from its original release date of October 3, 2023. Although this could undo the positive momentum that has already been created, there's also a chance that it will help the movie as a whole because of the jokes that were made about its early, closer closeness to the notorious Morbius that would have been avoided with a later release.

And a good reaction is important here since Aaron Taylor-Johnson's reimagining of the title Spider-Man villain, Kraven the Hunter, has a modified origin narrative that may be meant to inspire a separate series. In fact, it seems that this choice is meant to establish Kraven as a potential antagonist in the Sony live-action film universe. If the movie does well enough, it may even pave the way for a Sinister Six movie.

Venom 3 - November 8, 2024

Venom 3 was originally scheduled to launch on June 24, 2024, however it was pushed back to November 8, 2024. Being the third film in the most popular series of Sony's live-action Spider-Man universe, Venom 3 can help explain if this was a simple crossover moment or something more. It can also provide insight into what Sony's Marvel universe will look like.

Venom 3 may have a more multiverse-leaning plot, as hinted by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, where the villain visits the Venom universe to meet with Mrs. Chen, the proprietor of the convenience store in both of the live-action films that have been produced. As of right now, only Tom Hardy's portrayal of Eddie Brock is confirmed, though Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor are cast in unspecified parts. It remains to be seen if the movie will make the most of its two multiverse crossover scenes.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse - TBD

The following two films in Sony's Academy Award–winning animated Spider-Verse movie trilogy were originally intended to be two halves of one film, but they were eventually divided into separate releases. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released in June 2023 to enormous critical and commercial success. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was first scheduled to open on March 29, 2024, after the release of the second film.

Madame Web - February 14, 2024

The highly anticipated Sony film, Madame Web, made her theatrical debut on February 14, 2024, after Sony's Marvel movie release adjustments pushed it up by two days. This marked the beginning of the 2024 Marvel slate. The ensemble of Madame Web had several very amusing performances by skilled actors, including Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, Isabela Merced, and Adam Scott. Sadly, though, the movie received a distinctly unimpressive reception; Madame Web's box office performance is now even worse than that of the much-maligned Morbius.
