Doctor Strange 2: Rumored Doom Introduction Criticized for Potential Character Dilution

Supporters reacted to a recent report that in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," Doctor Doom nearly made his MCU debut as an Illuminati member.

After Jonathan Major's scandal and his dismissal from Marvel Studios as the MCU's main antagonist Kang, much conjecture has been made about who will be the next big villain. But according to a recent rumor, the superhero company already has a backup plan, and that plan involves adding Doctor Doom to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A recent revelation has revealed that the MCU had planned Doctor Doom's entrance in the most extravagant way imaginable, bringing him on board with Benedict Cumberbatch's 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Doom is the most likely candidate to be the next big enemy in the franchise.

The Multiverse of Madness by Marvel Studios May Include Doctor Doom's First Apparent Apparentation.

In the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange has opened up countless possibilities for anything to occur. Karl Mordo, Captain Peggy Carter, Black Bolt, Maria Rambeau, Reed Richards, and Charles Xavier were the members of the Illuminati of Earth-838 that Marvel Studios unveiled after Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff turned evil and wreaked devastation throughout the multiverse. There is another empty space in the studio, as scooper and insider Alex Perez just disclosed. In response to a fan's question, Perez revealed that Doctor Doom was originally supposed to be a part of the team that Wanda destroyed in the film. "As a member of the Illuminati in Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Doom would have slapped me," Perez wrote.

As one of the Fantastic Four villains, Doctor Doom would be incredible to see with Reed Richards. It would be the most outrageous entry for the renowned antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but given Wanda's murderous rampage, it also raises a number of concerns with his continued presence in the film. But the face-off has an additional intrinsic angle.

Supporters Reacted to Rumored Wanda Maximoff and Doctor Doom Argument

Maximoff had other lovers throughout her life than Vision. Wanda-Vision had other partners at various points in her life, but the MCU has only focused on their connection. One of the MCU's most formidable characters, the Scarlet Witch, had a brief romance with Doctor Doom. Avengers: The Children's Crusade, a miniseries starring Jim Cheung and Allan Heinberg, featured the couple's relationship earlier.

Billy/Wiccan and Tommy/Speed, her twin twins, searched for their mother after she vanished from House of M, but they eventually discovered her in Latveria, where she had been taken advantage of by Doom's curse. Wiccan assisted her in regaining her prior memories and breaking the villain's spell.

Given what happened to the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios may have done the legendary villain a favor by allowing him to remain fresh so he could make a strong introduction in his MCU premiere. The upcoming Fantastic Four revamp might feature Doom.
